We offer free shipping on qualifying orders of $100 or more — but a small number of heavy items cost real money to move and are excluded from that offer, no matter how large the order is. This page explains exactly what qualifies, what doesn't, and what heavy-item shipping costs when it applies.
Any product variant that weighs more than 45 lb is a heavy item, and any product whose package is oversize (longest side over 48 in, or length plus girth over 105 in — ladders, long tubing, large umbrellas, big boxes) is treated the same way. Heavy and oversize items:

Your cart has $120 of eligible (regular) items and one 55 lb heavy item. The $120 in eligible items ships free (it's over $100). The 55 lb item is charged its own heavy-item rate — a flat $49.95 — added at checkout. Total shipping charge: $49.95.

Packages with a longest side over 48 in, or length plus girth over 105 in (ladders, long tubing, large umbrellas, big boxes), don't qualify for free shipping at any order total. A flat oversize rate of $39.95 per item is added at checkout — $79.95 if the item also weighs more than 45 lb. Carriers charge an additional-handling fee of roughly $30 on every such package, which is what this rate covers.
Shipping a heavy item costs real money regardless of how large the rest of your order is, so we charge for it directly instead of building that cost into every other product's price.

By the actual shipping weight of the specific variant (size, color, etc.) you select — not by product tags, titles, or category. If a product has multiple options, choosing a different one can change whether it qualifies.

Eligible items are products or shipments weighing 45 lbs or less and of standard package size — items weighing more than 45 lbs, or whose package is oversize (longest side over 48 in, or length plus girth over 105 in), do not qualify for free shipping, regardless of the order total. Oversize items ship separately at a flat oversize rate of $39.95 ($79.95 when the item also weighs more than 45 lbs), shown in the table below. Packages whose length plus girth exceeds 130 in cannot be shipped and are not offered for sale.

When purchasing a single product, the applicable shipping charge may be displayed directly on the product page based on the selected product variant and its shipping weight. The shipping charge displayed on the product page may apply to that individual product only.
When an order contains more than one product, the final shipping charge is calculated based on the applicable shipment or shipments, including the combined shipping weight and whether items need to be shipped separately. For multiple-item orders, the final shipping charge is displayed at checkout before payment is completed, taking into account the products and variants in the cart, applicable shipping weights, free shipping eligibility, and the shipping destination.
The final shipping cost for the order will always be shown at checkout before the customer completes payment. Customers can review the applicable shipping charges before placing the order.
Certain products may have additional shipping restrictions or may not be available for shipment to certain U.S. locations due to product-specific requirements, carrier restrictions, or applicable laws.
